After completing a 5 year dental technology apprenticeship both at college in Leeds and hands on in the laboratory Clive and David graduated with merits in all aspects of dental technology and in particular distinctions in denture design and construction. Clive and David continued to train in the advanced aspects of dental technology and became qualified crown and bridge specialists culminating in them becoming full partners in the dental laboratory in which they worked. Having spent 15 years as commercial dental laboratory owners providing dental services to the National Health Service, Clive and David decided to open Denture Express. Both Clive and David had always dreamed of creating a business geared to a more personal contact with the people who actually use their products, so in 1990 Denture Express was born. Shortly after creating their new company Clive and David started a 3 year training program studying the clinical aspects of denture construction with the highly accredited George Brown Denturist College in Toronto, Canada, studying under Professor Mike Vakalis, a world renowned authority on dentures, culminating in a graduation ceremony at the House of Commons, London. During this time both Clive and David were elected to the Board of Governors of the Clinical Dental Technicians Association, the professional body for this emerging profession, where they helped drive the philosophy and goals of like minded Dental Technicians in the UK and helped set up the education and training necessary to create Clinical Dental Technicians in this country. |
Clive and David continued to enjoy success with their business and are now one of the largest independent denture companies in the UK. Both partners attribute this success to their attention to detail, customer service and a complete knowledge of dentures and the problems associated in wearing them, details which have consistently let down denture wearers in the past. Unusually Clive and David continue to have hands on contact with their clients, preferring to leave the administration of the business to others, believing that their skills are better served attending to their clients needs.

Clive
and David initially trained as Dental Technicians in 1975 at a commercial
dental laboratory in North Yorkshire providing dental services to dentists
and the NHS. 
To
date the partners has been practicing for 15 years and have many thousands
of clients, they pride themselves on being the only Qualified Denturists
in the Yorkshire region and one of only a hand full in the UK that provide
a bespoke denture service direct to the public offering dentures that
optimize fit, function and are as naturally cosmetic as they can be.
